Elevator Pitch


How Drugs Affect the Mind in Psychology.

Fancy seeing you here, Laura! I do not think you know of me yet, but my name is Juliet Ferro and I am very interested in studying how drugs affect the minds of the youth. I have done some research on you and your studies and came to find that you have some similar interests as me, so I would like to learn more about your knowledge. I'm interested in how the youth first came to using drugs, how it turns into them possibly injecting Heroin, what changes happen to their physical and mental state, and how Psychologists know what to say or how to support an addict to help them. I saw you have written two books on some similar concepts, so I would love to hear more about how you studied these findings. I would also like to know your opinion on how fast the epidemic is increasing and your opinion about some things that have come into place recently, like safe injection places. I have a unique view on addicts and I would love to see if some of our thoughts match up and hear your knowledge on addicts so that you can help me grow my interest and knowledge. Would you be willing to sit down together for a little and discuss these topics?

Annotating in ENG 15

Annotating “teaching thinking” Juliet Ferro When I am annotating, I make sure that I read it all first and look for the most important things in the paragraphs. Once I am done highlighting and reading through the whole paper, I go back to the highlights and I write little side notes that maybe I agreed with it or I have a question about it, or maybe I stated why I thought it was important. I usually star things when I find it really interesting so that I can go back to it. I put question marks next to statements that may confuse me or I have more questions about it. I also am not the type of person to just read something one time and understand it fully. I always read the paper once slowly , trying to understand the full concept, and then I read it again kind of “skimmingly” just to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
